Voorlinden had planned a retrospective of Armando in the spring of 2019. This show would have been dedicated to the artist’s ninetieth birthday. Armando (1929-2018) passed away on 1 July in Potsdam (Germany). The planned retrospective will now be on display from Saturday 3 November 2018 to Sunday 10 March 2019.

Armando is one of the most important post-war artists in Europe. For decades, Armando worked on his highly personal and versatile visual and literary oeuvre. With his expressive signature, he created paintings with thick impasto and sculptures built up with great force. In addition to being a visual artist and writer, Armando has also become known as a poet, violinist, actor, journalist, film, television and theatre maker.
